Competitive race begins at 9:30am, non-competitive walk begins at 9:35am
Walkers are invited to compete in the timed road race portion of the Great Human Race. If you are a walker who will be walking to support an agency and will not be competing in the road race, proceed to the agencies page.
The Great Human Race is a competitive race and non-competitive walk to benefit area nonprofits. Anyone can walk in the event in support of a nonprofit organization. Visit the agencies page for instructions on how to become affiliated with a participating nonprofit organization.
For walkers choosing not to raise funds for a nonprofit, read on!
There are three ways to register:
- If you would like to walk during the competitive run portion of the race and have your results timed and recorded, register online at Active.com. We ask that you please start at the back of the group of runners. And don't forget to visit our online donation center and make a donation to your favorite agency.
- If you do not want your results timed but plan instead to walk with the nonprofit walk portion of the event, register through the mail by completing a printed registration form [WORD] and returning it to:
The Volunteer Center of Durham
136 E Chapel Hill St
Durham, NC 27701
- For either option, register at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on race day beginning at 8:00am. On-site registration closes at 9:00a.m.
Competitive walkers pick up your race bib, packet, and t-shirt between 4 and 7pm on Friday, March 28th at Dick's Sporting Goods in Durham. Or you can wait until race day and pick it up from the registration table starting at 8 a.m.
- $20 if received by March 27th, 2008
- $25 if received after March 27th, 2006
This is a charity event benefiting nonprofits throughout the Triangle. If you would like to raise funds for a participating organization you can register to walk in the race for free. See the agencies page for details.
