Thanksgiving Dinners Program

The Thanksgiving Dinners Program is coordinated by the Triangle Nonprofit & Volunteer Leadership Center on behalf of Durham County Department of Social Services.  The Thanksgiving Dinners Program is designed to serve Durham County residents who are unable to provide for themselves and their families during this holiday.

Last Year, with your support, more than 1,700 children and adults
were served by this program.

Families are referred by a DSS social worker in order to participate in the program. Community residents, groups, and businesses are matched with families in need to provide them with a cooked or an uncooked meal.

Many companies will match donations made by their employees.  Please save your receipts when you purchase gifts for these families and submit copies to us so we can verify your donation for your company's match.

 This applies for shopping/sponsorship and
direct financial donations.

Some businesses will also match volunteer time with a financial donation to the charity which means the time you spend shopping and delivering your gifts could be used to provide additional support. Please include the name of your employer for follow-up.
