Frequently Asked Questions How do I volunteer? You can use our online matching system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! We have over 560 agencies that list their needs in our system, and we always have 100+ opportunities for you to search through. The best way to use the system is to create an account- then you can see the contact information for agencies, and sign up directly online! How do I search for opportunities? If you already have a 1-800-Volunteer account, go ahead and log in. Scroll down and look to the left. There should be a “search” link. You can use the features in the search section to find opportunities that match your schedule, your interests, or a particular issue area, and more! I signed up for a volunteer opportunity- now what? The agency should contact you to follow up. If they have not contacted you within 3 days you can feel free to contact them- their contact info is listed on their opportunity page. I want to know more about this opportunity before I sign up- what do I do? The agency contact information should be listed on the opportunity page. You can contact that person and they will help you with any questions they have. I need a record of my hours for school- can you provide that? Your 1-800-Volunteer account will keep a record of every opportunity you sign up for, so you’ll know what you did. We cannot confirm your hours for you though, the agencies where you worked will need to sign any paperwork. I don’t see anything I want to do. Our agencies post new opportunities every day, so check back- chances are we will have something for you soon! If you are interested in contacting agencies to work with them on a long term basis, you can click “browse organizations” on the “search” page. I signed up but I have to cancel- who do I contact?
